That title definitely required a smiley face there.  As my regular readers know, I’m excitedly (and impatiently) counting down to my two summer trips! (Plus it’s hard to find cool things to blog about when you’re doing your daily day-to-day routine at home.)

First up will be our big family Disney trip at the end of July.  As I mentioned before, I’ll be going with my parents, my sister, her husband, and their two little girls.

My nieces are SO excited!  The oldest was over at our house on Monday and made a list of all the rides that she was tall enough to go on.  She’s actually tall enough to go on most of the rides.  She is SO excited about the roller coasters.  Aunt Jen can’t wait to take her on Space Mountain and Expedition Everest!!!  And Tower of Terror!!!!!  She wanted me to tell her about all the rides, and which ones were my favorite.  (And 2nd favorite, and 3rd favorite, and 4th favorite… you get the idea. Haha!)  Seeing her excitement was SO cute!  The youngest can go on a lot of the rides too, but not all of them.  I just can’t wait for them to have this experience!  You all know I LOVE Disney World – this will be just another aspect to add to my “life portfolio” of amazing Disney trips.

And then after getting home from Disney, I’ll be back for only four days before heading to Croatia to visit Miloš.  (And look at me, figuring out how to do the fancy Croatian š — which sounds like “sh”.)  I am SO super excited for this trip!  We will be going to Zadar, which is a city a few hours south of his hometown.  I’ve done some preliminary research so far on the location – it’s a 3,000 year old city, along the Adriatic Sea.  (I’ve already downloaded some apps on my iPhone for Zadar too!)   One of the newer sites to see here is the Sea Organ.  Thirty-five pipes have been built into the stairs that lead down to the sea, and as the waves of water hit the pipes, they play various chords and tones.  (So awesome!)  There are also remains of a Roman era forum from the first century, B.C.  And the church of Saint Donat, dating from the 9th century, which is the symbol of Zadar and one of the most famous symbols of Croatia.  This particular church is also used regularly for musical performances, as its acoustics are extraordinary.  But obviously I’m excited to see Miloš – time can’t move fast enough!  I want it to go by really really fast, and then slow down as much as possible.  🙂

Only a month and a half until Disney, and Croatia right after that!  (And rest assured that I’ll be blogging about both trips, and posting tons of pics while I’m at each destination!)   It’s going to be an amazing late summer this year!  🙂 ❤

One of my favorite quotes is, "If your dreams don't scare you, they're not big enough." I guess I've been a dreamer all my life - I set my sights high and then I try to reach the sky. Some might call me a naive idealist, but that's just the way I am. I believe in always taking the high road, I believe in true love, and I believe in treating people the way you want to be treated. If you put good out into the world, good will come back to you! Being the dreamer that I am, I pursued singing as my primary life's calling - I've got two degrees in classical voice under my belt, and I sing just about anything under the sun. I also love a good adventure. Over the past few years, I've done quite a bit of world traveling, and have even lived abroad for stretches at a time: mostly in Vienna (Austria) and Croatia. A few years ago, I was lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time, and I became a travel agent who specializes in Disney vacations. (Seriously, I KNOW Disney - I've been going regularly since I was a little girl - and I LOVE it!) And with all my experience traveling and living in Europe, I'm becoming quite the specialist in that travel category as well. (And last year, I started working as a Tour Director in Central Europe!) As to the other juicy details of my life - I'm originally from Pennsylvania, I'm married to an awesome Croatian man named Miloš who is the BEST adventure partner a girl could ask for. (He's also an expert on knowing how to make me smile.) He's truly the love of my life! I've also had all kinds of other jobs along the way, besides singer and travel pro. (Which is pretty standard for those of us who went to school for music.) I've worked part time weekends as a Disney Princess look-alike for children's parties. I've been teaching for almost 20 years, and have lots of experience in retail and customer service. Oh, and I should also probably mention that I'm a huge Lord of the Rings/Star Trek nerd! :-) Let's all go along for an adventure, shall we?
